The 5th Convergence Congress on Endocrine Sciences: Innovations in Disease Diagnosis and Treatment
The Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute (EMRI) and the Endocrine Health Literacy Association will host the 5th Convergence Congress on Endocrine Sciences on February 14-15, 2025, at the Central Auditorium of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
The congress aims to bring together specialists, researchers, and students to exchange the latest advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence in medicine, personalized medicine, omics technologies, fasting, cell therapy, knowledge translation in endocrine research, and novel treatment approaches for endocrine disorders.
A Transformative Vision for Endocrine Sciences
Prof. Bagher Larijani, the congress chair, highlighted the transformative role of convergence in endocrinology. In an interview with the EMRI's public relations office, he stated:
"Integrating molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and medicine has led to groundbreaking discoveries. Researchers have developed early diagnostic methods, targeted therapies, and personalized treatments by leveraging these fields. For instance, omics techniques combined with artificial intelligence have enabled the identification of genetic patterns associated with type 2 diabetes, paving the way for innovative drug designs worldwide."
Addressing Challenges and Building Opportunities
Prof.. Larijani also discussed the challenges hindering progress in this field, including limited funding, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient collaboration among researchers. He emphasized the importance of creating international collaboration networks, organizing joint training programs, and supporting interdisciplinary research to overcome these barriers.
A Vision for the Future
With an optimistic outlook, Prof. Larijani underscored the pivotal role of emerging technologies, such as cell therapy and artificial intelligence, in shaping the future of endocrinology. "Researchers and specialists are key to creating a healthier and higher-quality future for patients, and through collaboration, we can achieve remarkable advancements," he added.
The 5th Convergence Congress promises to be an exceptional platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and building the foundation for a brighter future in endocrine sciences.
